Manchester – Islamist Cavalry on the Streets?

Islamist Cavalry on the Streets
Is this the first indication of an Islamist militia openly appearing on British streets?

As this website has pointed out many times, the liberal fantasy of multiculturalism has failed and increasingly there is evidence on the streets of inter-community strife, even the mainstream media carries stories of cultural conflict, religious tensions and racial tensions. Sectarian politics is becoming embedded in ethnic minority dominated districts of some towns and cities. And hey, the Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer blindly drones out the progressive mantra that ‘Britain is diverse, vibrant and tolerant’.

The recent Gorton and Denton byelection in the outskirts of Manchester has revealed the extent to which sectarian politics has taken hold in those towns and cities lauded by the political Left as being ‘diverse, vibrant and tolerant’. Then, as if to drive home the point, cosmopolitan Manchester offered yet another example of how inter-communal tensions are simmering just below the surface as rival Islamic factions gathered in the city centre, some to celebrate the death of Iran’s Supreme leader, others to mark the death of an Islamic ‘martyr’. Most striking was the appearance of a handful of Islamists on horseback wearing some type of paramilitary uniforms and behaving aggressively towards their opponents.

The mainstream news media typically played down the situation and the Manchester Evening News was transparently ignoring the reality of what was happening and captioned images of the horsemen as: “Men on horseback attend a planned vigil for the former Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei on March 4, 2026 in Manchester.”

According to the Manchester Evening News there were rival demonstrations but no serious trouble. “Police issue update after 800 people attend rival Iran protest and vigil in Manchester city centre. GMP said there was ‘no significant disruption’ amid the protests last night.

“Police have said no arrests were made after around 800 people attended Middle East-related rival vigil and counter-protests in Manchester city centre.”

The vigil was promoted by the Manchester Friends of Islamic Centre on Instagram and said to be hosted by ‘the Muslim community’. Attendees laid candles, flowers and photos of the late Ayatollah and other reported casualties from the latest air strikes.

But this was met by a larger counter-protest, which played loud music, chanted and danced as they appeared to celebrate the Ayatollah’s death. Waving flags of the US, Israel and the pre-1979 Islamic Revolution flag of Iran, they burned a photo of the Supreme Leader, beat drums and shouted slogans through megaphones. The groups were kept apart by dozens of police officers on the scene. The stand-off was largely peaceful, with the exception of a few scuffles which broke out between protesters as they dispersed.

This morning, a GMP spokesperson said around 800 people attended the vigil and counter-protests – around 400 on each side. No arrests were made and both groups ‘dispersed safely’.

There were a ‘small number of isolated incidents’, the GMP spokesperson added, but ‘no offenders were identified’. Last night, Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes issued a statement in response to those questioning why these gatherings can go ahead.

“There were a small number of isolated incidents”

In an update issued this morning, a spokesperson from GMP said: “Last night’s vigil and planned protest concluded peacefully, with no significant disruption and no arrests. Attendance was estimated at approximately 800 people, with around 400 individuals on each side.

“The event concluded at 10pm, and both groups dispersed safely while following police instructions. There were a small number of isolated incidents. No offenders were identified. No significant injuries were reported.”

So the fact that at least two Islamists on horseback, wearing identical, paramilitary-style uniforms, was not worthy of being officially noted? Some commentators have referred to these men as being members of a volunteer Sharia Police!

The Public Order Act 1936 was clearly being breached in the wearing of the uniforms, but once again ‘Two-Tier Policing’ was being demonstrated by officers from Greater Manchester Police. Online video footage clearly reveals that White British onlookers were calling for the police officers present to intervene and to arrest the Islamist horsemen. The police officers made excuses and refused to act.

Other overseas news outlets did not see it this way and certainly offered a more honest reporting on what was happening in Manchester.

“A video recording of Muslim horsemen chasing people down the streets of Manchester, United Kingdom, has been generating massive attention on several social media platforms, including X. The footage also shows police officers stopping them, exchanging a few words, and then letting them go to continue intimidating others, sparking massive outrage online.

“According to available information, the incident happened during rival protests organised by pro-Khamenei and anti-Iranian regime demonstrators on Thursday, 5 March.

“The two men on horseback are reportedly supporters of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who died on 28 February during the initial strikes of the US–Israeli military operation launched against Iran.

“They probably did not realise, or simply did not care, that they were no longer in a country governed by Sharia law when they decided to bring horses to the protest in order to chase down and intimidate anti-Khamenei demonstrators. As the two crowds clashed, these men charged at protesters carrying the pre-Islamic Revolution Iranian flag with the Lion and Sun emblem.”

The video was shared and commented on by millions of people from the UK and around the world. Many described British police as ‘cowards’ and ‘traitors’, highlighting the double standard they apply when harassing people for ‘online hate speech’ simply because they posted anti-immigration content on social media, contrasted with how they treat Islamist thugs.

The incident came just days after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted a Ramadan iftar event in Westminster Hall on 3 March, where he praised Muslims as ‘the face of modern Britain’, adding that they are ‘a success story when it comes to diversity’. Addressing hundreds of Muslim MPs, community leaders, activists, and guests, Starmer did not miss the opportunity to explain how ‘horrified’ he was by the ‘wave of hatred’ directed toward British Muslims, attributing it to ‘far-right rhetoric and misinformation’. So a very different version of the situation by a non-British news outlet.

Note the reference to Starmer’s praise of Muslims as “the face of modern Britain”. That statement alone should horrify every White British patriot and stand as a warning for the future.

If White British horsemen wearing British Movement uniforms had been riding those horses, they would have been instantly dragged from the saddles and arrested for a breach of the Public Order Act 1936 and several other offences. Two-Tier policing once again in increasingly sectarian Britain.
