The recent anti-illegal immigration protests in Dover and Portsmouth by organised and disciplined assemblies of black-clad, masked or hooded demonstrators under the umbrella organisation Patriot Platform has raised a number of issues for existing British Nationalist organisations.
As British National Socialists, British Movement considers the sight of disciplined, uniformed columns of activists to be a step in the right direction, BUT these protestors are being recruited and organised as act of a civic nationalist coalition. Daniel Thomas (aka Danny Tommo) the erstwhile leader of Patriot Platform, has made it clear that the organisation is not racially selective and “welcomed people of other nationalities into his organisation.”
The over emphasis on ‘fund-raising’, donations and a potential income source for the organisers is of course equally concerning to other British Nationalist organisations seeking to recruit support from a similar demographic and a loss of limited resources to their cause.
Within days of the first Dover and Portsmouth protest, the Home Office was demanding that police chiefs take all possible action to restrict and control such demonstrations. In accordance with this mindset three police forces were quick to announce their intentions. Police in Kent and Hampshire, Staffordshire and Northumbria also applied the restrictions in anticipation of forthcoming nationalist demonstrations.
No doubt all other police forces will quickly comply with the Home Office demands. The State has already a handful of tough public order legislation to use to control political dissent, but in the best traditions of a socialist regime the Labour government continues to add more.
Public Order Act (1936) – which was introduced in the wake of the so-called ‘Battle of Cable Street’ in 1936 as a legal mechanism to control and dismantle Sir Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists (BUF,) particularly in light of the political success in Germany and Austria of the NSDAP. The British government of the day, together with the broader mainstream political establishment were afraid that Sir Oswald Mosley and the BUF might repeat that level of success in Britain. (Note: a reminder to our readers that the full title of Sir Oswald Mosley’s organisation was the British Union of Fascists and National Socialists).
Public Order Act (1986) and since then the Public Order Act 2023, the Hate Crime and Public Order Act (Scotland) – 2021, and add to this the Labour government’s recent addition of the Crime and Policing Act 2025.
“Portsmouth- Powers under Section 158 of the Crime and Policing Act 2025 prohibits the wearing of face coverings used to conceal identity during any protest activity.
“The decision to utilise these new powers comes following recent incidents of violence and intimidation by a minority of those who have been intent on disrupting peaceful protest this week in Portsmouth. It aims to reduce opportunities for violence, intimidation and criminality by ensuring that individuals cannot conceal their identity whilst participating in protest activity.”
“A Section 60AA order will also be in place, covering the same area. This order gives officers the power to require a person to remove any items being used to conceal their identity, such as masks and face coverings. Any failure to comply can result in the person being arrested. The powers will apply to those involved in protest activity within the area shown on the map, between 10am on Saturday 12 September and 10am on Sunday 13 September.”
Assistant Chief Constable Paul Bartolomeo said: “Policing protests is nothing new to us, it is what we are trained for and we have specialist teams ready to deal with whatever we are confronted with.
“My officers have a wealth of experience in making split-second decisions in order to keep people safe, while supporting the right to peaceful and lawful protest. Where a minority of people try to take advantage of the situation to cause violence and disruption, it is right that we use all our policing powers robustly to protect the local community as well as the right of
others to peaceful protest.”
“We have listened to the concerns of our communities and know how intimidated they feel when they see masked groups descend on their neighbourhoods. This is why we are making use of these new policing powers, to ensure we have every tactic at our disposal, should we need it.
“It is important to stress that this power will apply to any groups that attend the protest and will be enforced equally and impartially. Let me be clear, these powers are not being implemented to prevent protest, but they are being used to help prevent crime and disorder, while making communities feel safer. We will support those who want to express their views peacefully and lawfully, but we will not tolerate those whose only aim is to create fear and incite violence.”
“Northumbria Police given extra powers as protests expected.”
“A North East police force has introduced temporary powers in Newcastle city centre as part of measures being used during planned protests expected to take place today. Northumbria Police said the order will run from 7am to 7pm on Saturday, September 12, allowing officers to make people remove face coverings or anything else hiding their identity. The move makes Newcastle one of three places in England where police have imposed the restrictions, alongside Tamworth and Portsmouth. Anyone who refuses to remove a face covering while the order is in force could face action from police. Northumbria Police urged demonstrators to remain peaceful and follow officers’ instructions.”
Professional anti-racism organisations use such hysteria as a justification for their existence, a useful tool for fund raising and frightening minorities into making donations to fund their ‘work’. Of course in the absence of a genuine racial Nationalist threat they will either invent one or incite one. As British National Socialists we must not be sucked into this engineered situation. We need to keep our activities as legal as possible but remain determined to build the Revolution From Below.
The security services and government funded propaganda units are operating under the directives of a socialist Labour government and a heavily left-wing influenced civil service which has an inbuilt opposition to British racial Nationalism. Therefore any indications of militant ‘Far-Right’ activists indulging in paramilitary activity or training will not only draw their maximum attention, but will also invite carefully orchestrated plots to draw out reckless individuals and ensure media headlines of ‘Far-Right’ or ‘Neo-Nazi’ terror plots being foiled by the ‘skilled intervention’ by the security services and undercover
police operations.
It is true that recent events in Ulster have caught the authorities unprepared and the strange shift in direction by some Irish Republican militants towards anti-migrant politics has unsettled some politicians in Sinn Fein as they lose their grip on White working class neighbourhoods. The emergence of demonstrations in Scotland, particularly in Glasgow but also in Edinburgh, Airdrie, Falkirk and other towns under the banners of ‘Unite the Clans’ and the Alba Defensor, has added to the unease in the political establishment.
Nationally the political Left and their media allies are trying to goad compliant Labour MP’s and ministers to politicise all aspects of protest and public order. The Patriot Platform protests in Dover and Portsmouth have galvanised the usual elements in the mainstream media and it should come as no surprise to regular readers of this website that the ‘progressive’ journalists and columnists of ‘The Guardian’ have so say about the protests in Dover and Portsmouth.
“Led by a convicted ex-soldier, masked men rallied at ports this week in the name of ‘patriotism and Christianity’- a new mutation in the anti-immigrant, far-right ecosystem.”
“Terrorism or protest? Dover unrest shows flaws in handling of far-right extremism”. That little gem by Dan Sabbagh the Guardian’s “Defence and security editor”. Whatever else emerges from this current phase of patriotic public protests there can be no doubt that Prime Minister Burnham and his socialist government will use this development as yet another excuse to push forward legislation to further restrict White Nationalist resistance against immigration and multiculturalism.
When the Labour Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood says that Daniel Thomas is “far-right and outright racist who will feel the full force of the law”, what she means by the “full force of the law”, is that where existing laws are not punitive enough to satisfy Labour’s left-wing back bench MP’s , then new laws will be introduced to silence ‘racism’ or ‘Islamophobia’ or whatever imagined ‘hate crimes’ the Stasi style political police and civil service can dream up.
No matter how attractive the notion of columns of disciplined, black clad marchers appears on the surface to existing British racial Nationalists and National Socialists, a scratch below the surface reveals an unacceptable truth to those who believe in Race and Nation. In his own words, ‘Danny Tommo’ made this clarification to mainstream journalists when he visited Piddington, “Racism within our organisation is just not acceptable. That is the stance we have. We are not a white nationalist movement. I have friends that are black.”
So leaving all the unease about the fundraising appeals and requests for donations aside, British Movement draws its readers attention to that closing statement on Patriot Platform and Daniel Thomas’s position on Race, and that they are NOT a White Nationalist movement.
