In May 2017, the BBC broadcast its (sanitised) ‘Three Girls’ three-part television drama series. It was based on the true story of the childhood friendship of three white schoolgirls in the deprived northern town of Rochdale. Their childhood was destroyed by a group of local Pakistani men who treated them as worthless.

So they targeted them to be raped and trafficked to other northern towns like Bradford, so they could then be sold and shared for sex with similar groups of paedophile Pakistani Muslim men. Because very large groups of Muslim men consider this behaviour to be ‘normal’ and culturally acceptable, English parents fear for the safety of their children when Muslims enter and settle in their locality.

The BBC’s ‘Three Girls’ docudrama highlighted some ‘failings’ of the Greater Manchester police to protect victims of the ‘grooming gang’ rapists in Rochdale. The GMP could have prosecuted some suspects years earlier. But in July 2009, an ‘experienced’ CPS lawyer (when Kier Starmer was DPP) ruled a victim was “not credible” and so decided that the two men who raped her should be released without charge!

However, in January 2011, Andrew Norfolk of ‘The Times’ exposed the ‘grooming gangs’ scandal. So in June 2011, shortly after ‘The Times’ exposé, the Chief Prosecutor Nazir Afzal, reviewed and reversed the earlier CPS decision not to prosecute those two rapists who had been arrested. Afzal eventually authorised the charging of ten Muslim men, who were later convicted in May 2012.

Therefore, in May 2012, the Police and the CPS apologised for their failures that allowed the rape gang to abuse girls for two years after the crime was initially reported to them by a rape victim. Furthermore, in 2022, the new GMP Chief Constable, Stephen Watson, admitted the ‘failures’ of the previous GMP force to protect children. He personally apologised to three of the victims (now young women) who had been repeatedly raped. They received a ‘substantial’ compensation pay out from the GMP.

Watson apologised for his predecessor’s errors in not investigating the abusers, in a culture which happened under the previous Chief Constables, including Sir Peter Fahy. But were these errors?

I believe that Labour’s political interference and the need to maintain fragile community cohesion in the wake of the 2001 Asian/Muslim riots were a factor in the GMP failing to prosecute the Pakistani Muslim rapists.

Even the American tech billionaire Elon Musk, recently accused Sir Keir Starmer of being complicit in covering up the ‘grooming gangs’ scandal, arguing that “rape gangs were allowed to exploit young girls without facing justice” during Starmer’s time as Director of Public Prosecutions. “In the UK, serious crimes such as rape require the Crown Prosecution Service’s approval for the police to charge suspects. Who was the head of the CPS when rape gangs were allowed to exploit young girls without facing justice? Keir Starmer, 2008 – 2013.” I believe Musk is right to blame Starmer!

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) prosecutes criminal cases that the police and other investigative organisations in England and Wales have investigated. The CPS is (supposedly) independent and makes its decisions to prosecute independently of the police and government.

However, the appointment of the Director of Public Prosecutions is made by the government’s Attorney General, so it is really a political appointment reflecting the values of the government. However, we now know that when Keir Starmer was appointed as the Director of Public Prosecutions in 2008, it was under the Labour government of then Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

However, we now also know (according to Nazir Afzal) that Brown’s government had already ordered the police nationally not to investigate the epidemic of Pakistani grooming gangs that were preying on vulnerable white working-class schoolgirls in deprived northern towns like Rochdale and Oldham.

So, Gordon Brown’s Labour government, with Keir Starmer as his Director of Public Prosecutions from 2008 did help to protect these Pakistani Muslim rape gangs and viewed their victims as child prostitutes!
