The ‘Good Samaritan’ Murder
British Movement Northern region articles have previously drawn attention to the Sheffield district of Burngreave and its high levels of ‘diversity’ and multiculturalism. Nothing highlights the clash of cultures like a violent murder, and this case from December 2023 has finally closed in the courts in November 2025, almost two years after the horrendous events that included the so-called ‘Good Samaritan’ murder.
As is so often the case in modern Britain where there is ‘cultural enrichment’ involved, the victim was White British and his killer was not. The headlines, as is often the case, did not immediately explain what had happened. “A man has been found guilty of murdering a ‘Good Samaritan’ by driving a car into a crowd at his sister’s wedding.”
The murder of Christopher Marriot took place in the street of the north Sheffield district of Burngreave, an area noted for its ‘vibrant’ and multi-racial population; unfortunately, the lack of integration and adoption of British cultural norms is also a feature of life there, something the ‘progressive Left’ prefer to ignore.
December 27th 2023
“An Asian family wedding was taking place in Burngreave between the Khan family and the Jhangur family. According to several sources, there was animosity between the Khans and the Jhangurs that erupted in violence in the Burngreave area of Sheffield after a wedding between Hasan Khan and Amaani Jhangur.
“Hassan Jhangur, 25, was convicted at Sheffield Crown Court after fatally injuring Chris Marriott, 46.
“The attacker hit five people with his Seat Ibiza when he arrived at the reception on December 27, 2023. Sheffield Crown Court previously heard that violence broke out between the families over a feud at the wedding of their children, Amaani Jhangur and Hasan Khan.
“Hassan Jhangur first drove into the father of the rival Khan family, who was standing in the street, before driving into four other people, Jurors heard.
“The defendant, of Whiteways Road, Sheffield, who worked as a food delivery driver, was found guilty of murdering 46-year-old Mr Marriott by a jury in July – a year after another set of jurors failed to reach any verdicts in his trial.”
Outlining the sequence of events that led to Mr Marriott’s death, the judge said Jhangur used his car “as a weapon”. Note that Hassan Jhanguar had also turned up at his sister’s wedding armed with a knife.
The trial at Sheffield Crown Court had concluded on November 6th 2025, with the sentencing of the killer Hassan Jhangur and his father Mohammed Jhangur. The completion of the trial was covered by a number of mainstream media news outlets, including the Sheffield news outlet The Star.
“Hassan Jhangur was sentenced for Mr Marriott’s murder, along with several other charges relating to the five others injured in the incident. They include Hassan Jhangur’s mother and sister, Ambreen and Nafeesa, along with his brother-in-law Hasan Khan, who Hassan Jhangur, formerly of Whiteways Road, Grimesthorpe, Sheffield, stabbed multiple times after causing the fatal crash.
“His father, Mohammed Jhangur, aged 57, also of Whiteways Road, Grimesthorpe, Sheffield, is also set to be sentenced for perverting the course of justice, after he hid the knife used to stab Hasan Khan in the boot of his car.”
Perhaps this is how family disputes at weddings are resolved in the Asian communities, but certainly it is not how things are done at a traditional Yorkshire wedding. Certainly, the violence that erupted onto the streets of Burgreave demonstrated a real cultural difference.
“Chris Marriott, aged 46, was in the process of offering assistance to a woman lying in the road of College Close, Burngreave, Sheffield, on the afternoon of December 27, 2023, when he was struck by a car, leaving him with fatal injuries.
“Mr Marriott was out with his family on a post-Christmas walk when he saw Nafessa Jhangur – the defendant’s sister – lying apparently unconscious in the road and decided to see whether he could help, while his wife and children returned home.
“The court heard Jhangur had been told about his sister being injured, and drove to the scene, first hitting Riasat Khan, the groom’s father, who was standing in the middle of the road talking to a 999 call operator.
“The Seat then hit the group of four people in the road before coming to a stop in a nearby front garden. One of those hit and injured was off-duty midwife Alison Norris, who had also gone to help Nafessa Jhangur while out walking with her family.
“Jhangur got out of the car while the engine was still running and stabbed Hasan Khan multiple times to the left side of his head and to his chest, with a knife he had taken with him, the court heard.
“Jhangur was cleared of attempting to murder Hasan Khan, but guilty of his wounding with intent, as well as three charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Alison Norris, Ambreen Jhangur and Nafeesa Jhangur, and the wounding with intent of Riasat Khan.
“His father, taxi driver Mohammed Jhangur, 57, also of Whiteways Road, Sheffield, was found guilty of perverting the course of justice after he concealed a knife and was given a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years and ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work.”
The sad fact of this case is that Chris Marriot was by all accounts a devout Christian and was quite acting within his beliefs by being a ‘Good Samaritan’ to a person of a different race and faith who was lying injured in the road. In addition, Alison Norris, a medical professional, a midwife, had also stopped to offer assistance to the injured Asian woman.
Not for the first time, this website finds itself reporting on a violent crime, or in this case crimes, being committed on the streets of Burngreave by a member of an ethnic minority community against other members of both his own community and against members of the indigenous White British population.
Once again demonstrating clearly to anyone who will listen to the British Movement position that ‘Diversity is not our strength’.
