BREAKING NEWS – Terrorism At A Leeds Hospital

A man has been charged with engaging in the preparation of an act of terrorism and explosives and firearms offences after being taken into custody last Friday at the maternity wing of St. James’s Hospital, Leeds.

Mohammad Farooq, 27, of Roundhay, Leeds, is accused of one count of participating in terrorism, one count of owning a imitation gun, and one count of maintaining an explosive with the purpose to threaten life or property.

Wards on the Gledhow wing of the hospital were evacuated because of a suspicious package and army specialists and a bomb disposal unit attended the scene. Farooq has been remanded in custody and will appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court via video link on Friday.
