Labour Sacrifices Our Children on the Altar of Multiculturalism
More families and children are facing homelessness in Salford as the city’s housing crisis worsens. Figures from Salford council from March 5th 2024 revealed that 1,146 children in the borough are now living in expensive temporary accommodation. This is a big from only 329 in April 2021. Now in 2025 the situation is getting worse.
The Mayor of the Labour run ‘Sanctuary City’ of Salford, which welcomes ‘refugees’, Paul Dennett recently said that overspending on temporary accommodation has become an “existential threat” to councils around the region. Dennett stated, “We are seeing councils up and down the country going bankrupt, and overspending on temporary accommodation is a significant element of that. This should be a huge concern across this country right now and for us in Greater Manchester.”
The reasons for this surge in homelessness ranges from the end of private tenancies, family exclusion, prison release and notably the loss of taxpayer funded accommodation for thousands of former asylum seekers now given the right to remain in Britain as refugees by the Home Office.
The Mayor of Salford, Paul Dennett, also whined that greedy private landlords were exploiting the housing shortage in the city by raising their rents and also by issuing more Section 21 ‘no fault’ eviction notices in order that they might more speedily terminate their less profitable tenancies.
Dennett said, “Renters are being forced out of their homes by rents they cannot afford, illustrating how with a lack of rent controls, landlords are being allowed to exploit the housing and homeless crisis we’re facing across the country.” He failed to mention that mass migration was fuelling this crisis.
It seems more private landlords are joining the hoteliers, left lawyers, security firms and other unscrupulous ‘businessmen’ that make a mint from the ‘refugees’ gravy train at the taxpayer’s expense.
With thousands of ‘asylum seekers’ and new ‘refugees’ now being evicted from hotels in England, Serco is calling out to property developers and private landlords to take in asylum seekers. Serco, which is responsible for over 30,000 asylum seekers, has an ever-growing portfolio of more than 7,000 properties. Their operating model is based on leasing properties from landlords with Serco acting as their tenants!
On their website Serco says, “We want to work with you and will consider all types of properties in the North West, Midlands or East of England.” The properties being sought for asylum seekers by Serco include HMO’s, family property, former care homes, residential and student accommodation.
On their website, Serco explains the big benefits to landlords of taking asylum seekers as tenants as follows:
. Long term lease – Leases available for 5+ years with no void periods.
. Rent paid – Rent paid in full, on time every month, with no arrears.
. Bills – Utilities and Council tax bills paid by Serco.
. Repairs and maintenance – Full repair and maintenance lease excluding latent and structural defects.
. Property management – Full HMO and property management, including monthly property and periodic safety inspections.
. No letting or management costs. (This huge saving alone can be over 10% of the rent).
These benefits explain why more landlords are realising that it is now more convenient and profitable to evict their existing tenants and replace them with new ‘asylum seekers’ funded by the taxpayer!
