A Tale of Two Cities

Homeless Outreach in Manchester

British Movement North West: Another Day Looking After Our Own – Homeless Outreach in Manchester.

This week, the British Movement North West team was back out on the streets of Manchester, delivering practical help to those sleeping rough in our city. In the biting cold, we distributed hot meals, snacks, drinks, toiletries (including wet wipes, first aid kits and hygiene items), and other essentials to vulnerable British residents facing homelessness.

Photos from the day show team members kneeling down to hand out foil containers of corned beef hash, necessities, and warm items to people wrapped in sleeping bags and coats on the pavement. We provided everything from hot drinks in cups to packets of tissues and food parcels – small but vital support that makes a real difference when temperatures drop.

We noticed a free Palestine protest on our way around the city centre helping our folk. White traitors would rather protest in favour of people they’ll never meet from a barbaric hellhole than look after their own.

Our “Meals on Sunwheels” initiative continues to focus on Brits first: putting food in stomachs, warmth in hands, and dignity in interactions. No grand gestures, just direct action where it’s needed most. The numbers remain stark – stickers spotted around Manchester remind people: 9,589 people are homeless in Greater Manchester, including 4,678 children – that’s 1 in every 61 residents. While others talk, we’re out every week doing something about it for our own people.

We’ve been consistent: weekly outreach, food runs, and community support without fanfare. If you’re tired of seeing Brits left behind while priorities go elsewhere, join us. Scan the QR codes on our stickers, email sunwheelteam@googlemail.com, or get in touch to help or volunteer.

An absolute disgrace. A homeless man was found dead just days ago in the doorway of the Derby Midland Hotel, which is now housing migrants. No comfy bed with clean sheets for him. No hot meals, television and washing facilities for this poor soul. No mobile phone so that he could keep in touch with those who loved him.

That this can happen on Britain’s streets in 2026 is sickening. While our own citizens are left to die cold and alone, the government continues to turn a blind eye – pouring money into housing and comforts for unvetted migrants instead of protecting its own people.

This is vile. It was preventable. And it is a damning indictment of a government that has completely failed those it claims to serve. Support the BM’s Homeless Outreach activities.

Last year, the BBC website headlined a story about the ‘massive challenge’ in Derby as refugees sleeping rough rose. Hang your head in shame, BBC.
