Our Sham Revolving Democracy

David Icke is a former footballer and sports broadcaster who became a national laughing stock when he claimed that Britain and the world was ruled by purple lizard people.

In 1990, as a spokesman for the Green Party, he visited a psychic who told him he was on Earth for a purpose and would receive messages from the spirit world. This led him to state in 1991 he was a “Son of the Godhead” and that the world would soon be devastated by tidal waves and earthquakes, predictions he repeated on the BBC show Wogan.

His endorsement of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, in the ‘Robots’ Rebellion’ and ‘And the Truth Shall Set You Free’ led his publisher to stop handling his books, which became self-published.

In ‘And the Truth Shall Set you Free’ (1996) he asked “Why do we play a part in suppressing alternative information to the official line of the Second World War? How is it right that while this fierce suppression goes on, free copies of the Spielberg film, Schindler’s List, are given to schools to indoctrinate children with the unchallenged version of events.”

“And why do we, who say we oppose tyranny and demand freedom of speech, allow people to go to prison and be vilified, and magazines to be closed down on the spot, for suggesting another version of history.”

And in the same book we find the following claim (which rings true except for the last sentence) that certainly put the cat among the pigeons:

“I strongly believe that a small Jewish clique which has contempt for the mass of Jewish people worked with non-Jews to create the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the Second World War… They then dominated the Versailles Peace Conference and created the circumstances which made the Second World War inevitable. They financed Hitler to power in 1933 and made the funds available for his rearmament.”

For me, Icke’s demolishment of our Labour/Tory two-party dictatorship during a Talk Radio interview with Eamonn Holmes hits the nail on the head:

Look at democracy, right, here today gone tomorrow politicians, how does it work? In almost every country, there are two party’s that have any chance of forming a government, sometimes 3, mostly 2, Britain, America etc.

So you vote for party A. They get into power and you don’t like what they’re doing. The only way to get them out is to vote for party B. You vote for party B, they get in and you don’t like what they’re doing, why, ’cause basically it’s the same thing because it’s the permanent government that’s dictating it not them.”

So how do you get rid of party B? Err, you go back to party A. And it’s this A-B, B-A that we call democracy
